Following epic narratives on All Day I Dream and Inward Recordings, his debut on Behrouz's Do Not Sit On The Furniture doesn't just continue his signature of faraway, cosmic house music but elevates it once again.
The lead track pays homage to the most formidable Hindu God; 'Shiva'. A tale told from four different perspectives; Srinath Raghavan's emotional prayer call shrouds deep weaves of percussion, deep pads and swooping strings; from the hypnotic groove of the Original Mix to the breath-taking ambience of the Film Score Mixdown, Pippi paints with vivid brushstrokes, taking us to places we're currently unable to travel to. Complete with a deeper, darker twist from long-time label friends Esteble, 'Shiva' is a story that just won't quit.
It's backed by two more beautiful compositions; the unhurried tablas and eastern strings of 'The Watchman' and the more upbeat psychedelic peaktime motion of 'Blood Stone' both transcend any sense of place and time and galvanise Pippi's role as one of the most exciting sonic storytellers of our time.
